We are the monitoring weather for Thursday, Dec. 16

The National Weather Service is forecasting an unusual, and potentially severe, winter storm tonight that may impact the morning commute on Thursday.

Record warmth on Wednesday, followed by the potential for heavy rainfall, strong winds, and falling overnight temperatures, all within a few hours, make us uncertain what the morning commute will bring.

Although it is too early to know how this potential storm will impact us, we do not expect to call off school for tomorrow. However, we will be watching the weather forecast closely.

Robbinsdale Area Schools typically cannot offer two-hour late starts in response to extreme weather conditions due to the issues created for many of our families.

If the weather necessitates a closure, we will make this decision no later than 5:30 a.m., after we assess road conditions.

We will notify families immediately if there are any changes to the school day on Thursday. Please stay safe.
